Description
Antique 1890s APOTHECARY Pharmacy DRUGGIST - Heavy CAST IRON 3 Hole CORK PRESS !Early
Victorian period
piece, 1890s - 1900s era and
was most likely used by an apothecary shop chemist or druggist to compress corks for various medical bottled preparations, it has 3 different diameter cork hole slots and entire unit can be screwed down to a work surface.
Note: I have another cork press listed that is a solid cast brass one in a similar design style.
Excellent as-found condition, no damage, floral leaf design impression is good, hinge still works fine, nice overall surface patina especially on the interior press areas
from use - its a fully functional piece right now.
Measures overall 9-1/2 inches long and 2-7/8 inches across at the widest point. The actual p
ress area is 4 inches x 1-1/2 inches wide.
Weighs about 2-1/2 pounds, pretty heavy for its size.
