    Description

40TH ANNUAL BEASTLY BALL, Program for Saturday, June 19, 2010 6 P.M. event with dinner honoring actress Betty White, Benefiting The Los Angeles Zoo And Botanical Gardens, 8.5 x 11.05-inch PB bound by 2 staples; 72 pp., excellent condition (only very minor flaw is a tiny chip at lower spine corner). *Comes with two 8x10-inch color photos of Betty - one a studio-style portrait, the other a photo of her relaxing in her backyard with her three dogs; both are in excellent condition with no print on the back, so the photographers are unknown.
The Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens, located adjacent to Griffith Park near the border between Burbank and Glendale, has an appropriate address - 5333 Zoo Drive. It was founded on 133 acres of public land in 1966 and is a beloved attraction. Starting in 1970, it began honoring its most significant supporters at the Annual Beastly Ball, which raises money for the zoo. Betty is a well-known animal lover and advocate and was still active in 2010 at age 88. Earlier that year, she received the Screen Actors Guild's Lifetime Achievement Award, and her hilarious Super Bowl commercial for Snickers rated as one of the event's very best. It's a lavish program, and full-page congratulatory ads include not just Disney and DreamWorks, but also the late, great Eagles singer Glenn Frey and his wife Cindy, Elton and David (I presume Elton John), and Marilyn and Jeffrey Katzenberg. The event received lots of local press and raised over million.
The photos are lovely. The portrait is printed on thick, matte-finished stock. The shot of Betty and pooches is glossy. These are rare items and a major find for Betty White fans.
The Buy-It-Now price of .00 includes shipping with cardboard backing in a padded envelope via media mail, which takes around 7 days with tracking., less in SoCal.
