Cico Royal Vienna Style Classical Lady & Cherub Green Yellow & Gold Celery Dish C. 1949 - 55
Pretty porcelain celery dish. Nicely decorated in the popular Royal Vienna style with a classical / allegorical scene in the center. The scene depicts a Greek or Roman woman holding a rose. There is a cherub in front of her. The scene is framed in gold gilt floral scrollwork designs. The inside of the dish is brown with small gold gilt flowers. With a green and yellow border with gold gilt scrollwork overlay. Gold gilding along the edge. Marked on the reverse Cico made in Germany Bavaria. This mark was used between 1949 and 1955. This mark is obscuring the original manufacturer's mark, which can be seen if a bright light is shown through the piece. The mark underneath is a PM Moschendorf Bavaria mark.
Minor wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
