    Description

    Japanese Type 30 School Training Bayonet, Variation T-S, with Grip stamp.
    The inscription is meant to be read top to bottom, with the pommel up and blade tip pointed down. It consists of three characters. The second and third ones are

    , seikou, which is an abbreviation for
    ????
    , seinen gakkou, or “youth school”. These were schools that combined vocational and military training and were meant to bridge the gap between middle school and draft age. The first character is the School name. The Stamp is unreadable and cannot be made out. Length is 19 5/8 inches over all Scabbard and Frog are correct. These are very scarce. Scabbard is LBS-2, painted Black for school trainer ball tipped metal. Frog is LBF-59 wide single loop rubberized steel buckle leather strap with two rivets.
