Description
Royal Vienna Style Hand Painted Renaissance Lady & Cherub Raised Gold VaseNice late 19th / early 20th century porcelain vase. Decorated in the Royal Vienna style with a hand painted scene of a Renaissance lady playing a stringed instrument and a cherub on a tree branch playing a violin framed in gold gilding with raised gold floral scrollwork over crimson red vignettes with blue arch with gold laurel leaves and beading above and blue bands below. Two sides of the vase are decorated with gold urns and floral scrollwork partially raised in gold over a crimson background framed in blue with gold laurel leaves and small white beads. The back of the vase has gold birds and trees over crimson framed by a band of gold with gold beads, a band of blue with gold laurel leaves and small white beads, a band of thin crimson with gold lines and dots, and larger sections of raised gold scrollwork and beading over yellow, all framed in blue with gold laurel leaves and beading. The shoulder of the vase is decorated with raised gold floral scrollwork and beading over yellow. The neck of the vase is decorated with gold floral medallions with beading framed in gold beading and gold scrollwork and beading over pink vignettes framed in blue. Yellow bands around the top of the neck and base with gold gilt designs and beading. Gold gilding along the rim of the vase. Marked on the bottom with a gold rose mark next to a beehive/shield mark in overglaze blue above Germany.
Has some wear to the gilding and some loss to the beading, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 2 3/4 inches wide x 8 7/8 inches tall.
