    Description

Unmarked Royal Vienna Style Courting Couple Plate With Pale Green Border C. 1900
Very pretty porcelain cabinet plate. Nicely decorated in the Royal Vienna style with a Victorian courting couple in the center surrounded by fancy gold gilt designs. There are white hand colored highlights to the lady's dress and the man's cuffs. The woman is wearing a yellow late Victorian ball gown with bustle and train, and white gloves. With a border of pale green with gold gilt floral scrollwork overlay and small white enamel beads. Unmarked. Probably made around the turn of the century by one of the German or Austrian factories known for making porcelain in this style, such as Josef Riedl, Oscar Schlegelmilch, or Schmidt & Co.
Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 8 1/2 inches wide.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
