WWII JAPANESE ARMY OFFICER SHIN GUNTO SWORD W/ SCABBARD & TASSELS

Description

Good condition original WWII Japanese army officer Shin Gunto sword. 26” blade has original bright finish with some scattered gray pits. Both sides of tang have nice kanji markings. Wooden tsuka has original white rayskin covering and brown cloth tape wrap that shows some normal wear and staining. Held to the tang with a single bamboo mekugi. Both sides have original menuki depicting three cherry blossoms. Brass tsuba has two seppa on either side. Scabbard latch button is present but does not work properly. Complete with original company grade tassels that are torn. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has original paint showing some flaking and a few dents. A good original WWII Japanese officer sword for your collection.
